I don't know if he's doing a good job or not, but I think his statement that 'living with terrorism is part of living in a big city' is probably the worst statement about terrorism made by a politician since Bush told terrorists to "bring it on" after 911.

Org's "rearranginging deck chairs on the titanic" serving 2 purposes
by nowwhat? inin 2 weeks we will be announcing major changes in northern ohio congregations and there is quite the buzz in the area about it.
just talked to a jdub from the detroit area that just underwent similar changes, and they mentioned it has been "quite exciting" to get to meet new brothers and sisters.
so besides the cash benefit of selling a couple kingdom halls in the process.

"It's not a bug. . . it's and undocumented feature!"
This is the kind of "reasoning" the WT is flooding adherents with right now.
No, the KH sell off isn't simply the result of: poor financial decisions at headquarters; publishers who are piss poor because higher education is discouraged; people in first-world countries are able to Google JWs and the whole thing is slowly collapsing financially.
No, that's not what's happening at all. Consolidating congregations and selling off halls is jehovah's latest new "feature"/"blessing."

. . . . Have you ever wondered what the future will be for you and your family? Does it promise riches or ruin, love or loneliness? Will you live a long life, or will your life be cut short? People have speculated about such questions for thousands of years.. . . .
Look! I studied my Watchtower!

Welcoming Our Latest JW Apologist JTrottigy
by pale.emperor ini'd like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome our newest jw apologist jtrottigy.
.
he'll likely only be here for a few days like most jw defenders before he runs away when presented with his own doctrine.. so far he's already said some hilarious stuff, like "there's no such thing as nepotism in jehovah's organisation", "confidentiality is paramount to elders" and, my personal favourite "the overlapping generation is so simple to understand".. yh don't think i don't remember you from jwtalk..

Here's all I ask of you:
Right now, ask to meet with the elders who "approved" your cart witnessing "privilege." Tell them that you are active on this site and show them all of the threads you've posted on so far.
Let us know how that goes for you. . . .

I think what Maxine Waters said -- encouraging harassment -- is complete bullshit.
But that has nothing to do with what I said:
"Political leaders aren't demanding that their followers cut off association with members of the opposite party/candidate under penalty of shunning; the people doing the shunning are doing it of their own accord."
She did not demand that anyone shun members of an opposing viewpoint under penalty of shunning themselves.

It’s anecdotal, but I personally know dozens of people that have told me they have been cut-off, unfriended and otherwise shunned on social-media and in the real world because of different political beliefs. That is, by definition, cultish behavior. - jp1692
Yeah, that is pretty cultish behavior. That being said, it still isn't the institutionalized shunning seen in JWs, Scientology, etc.. Political leaders aren't demanding that their followers cut off association with members of the opposite party/candidate under penalty of shunning; the people doing the shunning are doing it of their own accord.

Are we losing our way a bit at JWN?
by nicolaou infirstly, i want to be crystal clear how grateful i am for jwn.
it's been my place of support for over seventeen years and it's the first online space i direct anyone to if they are taking steps out of the cult.
i am not bashing jwn - i love this place and appreciate the hard work and expense simon puts in to keep it going.

If I could give the OP 1,000 thumbs up, I would. . . . . .
Also agree 100% with SBF. . . there's no such thing as a slow news cycle in WT World anymore. .. more than enough to discuss.
